Local players have developed a Soft Landing program to support early-stage life science startup companies opening shop in Aggie Square early next year.

The first phase of Aggie Square has 1.2 million square feet of space available as a biotechnology hub under construction near the UC Davis Medical Center campus in Sacramento. That includes a 50,000-square-foot outfitted and shared office and lab space called Connect Labs.

The operator of Aggie Square, Baltimore-based Wexford Science & Technology, doesn’t have any companies signed on to take new space in Connect Labs, but it’s “having many conversations with private industry,” said Travis Sheridan, senior vice president with Wexford. “It’s hard to get people excited about renderings.”
