Travis Sheridan, most recently CEO of the Venture Cafe Foundation, will join Wexford on January 6th as the company’s Chief Community Officer. “Wexford has worked closely with Travis over the past several years to establish Venture Café as an important element in Wexford’s Knowledge Communities in St Louis, Miami, Providence, Philadelphia, and Winston-Salem,” said Jim Berens, founder and CEO of Wexford. “We are delighted he is bringing his unique talents and perspective to our company where he will be responsible for helping us sharpen our focus on community inclusion as we grow our portfolio,” Berens continued.

In addition to a focus on community inclusion and social responsibility, Sheridan will be responsible for integrating and delivering many of Wexford’s innovation elements (shared office, shared lab, public gathering space, programming, etc.) to existing and new projects.  Additionally, he will also explore opportunities for bringing venture funding to the Wexford university platform and Knowledge Community network. Sheridan describes himself as a ‘born hustler’ who has had a distinctive career path since the age of five: selling rocks door-to-door, mowing neighborhood lawns, serving in the Air Force, performing as a stand-up comedian, managing banks, elevating brands with public relations, inspiring agtech entrepreneurs on the West coast, and co-founding several companies as well as cultivating Midwest startups.
