Phoenix Bioscience Core debuts Artist + Researcher Exhibition as part of new PBC Arts Committee
The Artist + Researcher Exhibition is the first project from the newly formed PBC Arts Committee led by Dr. Cynthia Standley from the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. The exhibition features nine art pieces created by local Phoenix-area artists. Each artist was paired with researchers from the three public research universities on the PBC: Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona.

Filament is Moving to Cortex
Filament is excited to announce that they are bringing better meetings, creative programming, and their unique take on collaboration and the future of work to St. Louis’ Cortex Innovation Community.
Founded in 2015, Filament LLC is a creative business that designs, facilitates, and hosts collaborative meetings, retreats, and offsites, that helps smart people think together better. Filament is relocating from its Washington Avenue location to take over nearly 10,000 square feet of Cortex’s 4220 building that was originally called “Innovation Hall.”

Atrium Preps for Innovation District
Atrium Health’s data center at 801 S. McDowell Street will be demolished soon to make room for The Pearl innovation district in Midtown Charlotte.
The data center building was recently decommissioned after more than 20 years of service, replaced by more advanced physical storage and internet cloud-based systems. The site will be enclosed by a wall of fencing proclaiming its future The Pearl will include the campus of Wake Forest University School of Medicine Charlotte. It will share space within the Howard R. Levine Center for Education with Wake Forest University School of Business, Wake Forest School for Professional Studies and Carolinas College of Health Sciences, each of which have announced plans to locate there, along with other educational opportunities. Formal groundbreaking is expected during the first quarter of next year. The school of medicine is expected to seat its first class in 2024 and open the following year.

GMH Communities Launches ANOVA uCity Square Philadelphia, Residences for the Life Sciences
ANOVA uCity Square Philadelphia, developed by GMH Communities and Wexford Science and Technology, provides living space for professionals and graduate students in the life sciences, healthcare and technology fields within the City of Brotherly Love. The site is a six-story, 330,000-square-foot complex that offers 462 apartment units within the University City neighborhood. The complex is set to fully open by 2025.

Wake Forest University School of Medicine Resident Selected for Advanced Surgery Training at IRCAD in France
A general surgery resident at Wake Forest University School of Medicine has been selected to study pediatric minimally invasive surgery at IRCAD, a France-based, global research and training institute.
Jessica Rauh, M.D., will spend one week in April 2023 at the state-of-the-art center, which teaches all aspects of endoscopic surgery, and is located on the campus of the University of Strasbourg, in France.
Only one fellow or resident is selected annually for this award. Rauh was selected based on her abstract presentation on laparoscopic common bile duct exploration for pediatric patients at the International Endosurgery Group’s annual conference earlier this summer.
